Working: Stirred Tanks commonly used in the industry are completely back-mixed reactors meaning the concentration in the reactor is same as the outlet of the reactor- this greatly reduces the reduction rates. Plug flow reactors are an alternative to stirred tanks where the concentration varies in the axial direction of the reactor. Tubular reactor showcases a plug-flow behaviour but the radical mixing in the tubes is limited. AMaR-3 3D flow reactor flow pattern has the three-dimensional nature and provides more volume for processing than conventional microchannel devices. The conical section arranged in geometry provides converging and diverging flow pattern. The advantage of flow profile is beneficial for increased mass transfer.

Application: AMaR-3 reactor promotes a converging-diverging flow pattern which gives very effective radial mixing. Hence its suitable for reactions which are mass-transfer limiting. For example, many liquid-liquid immiscible reactions and gas-liquid reactions. Some applications include halogenations, oxidation, carbonylation, carboxylation, condensation, etc. |
